Look, this isn’t even an issue of alternatives. Even if there were a number of viable alternatives to abortion - if the foster care system was overhauled and safer, if adoption wasn’t racist and ableist - abortion would STILL NEED TO BE LEGAL. This is about female* autonomy. Nobody’s political views or offered adoptive services supersede my right to make decisions about my own body. If you choose to deal with an unwanted pregnancy by giving it up for adoption, that is your choice, and I respect it! If I choose to deal with it by having an abortion, that is my choice, and you had better respect it. My uterus? MY CHOICE.

(*more accurately stated, this is about the pregnant individual’s autonomy - I recognize that not only women can get pregnant, and trans* individuals also have the right to access abortions.)
