this is my first christmas without my uncle - my family usually spent the holidays with his, because even though he and my dad were 2 of 9 children, they were especially close - and i miss him so much. i can still hear him in my head, saying ‘hiya, gracie!’ and asking me to get him a guinness and then we would sit down and talk about what books we were reading. i’m just sad.
